About Us

Greystone Primary is situated on the main Greystone Road in Antrim. The school has been an integral part of the community it serves since it was opened in 1970. Greystone Primary is sited in extensive grounds including a large grass area to the rear, a recently resurfaced large playground to the front and separate infant playground to the rear. The buildings and environment are well maintained and cleaned, providing a welcoming atmosphere. Displays in classrooms and communal areas reflect the family atmosphere and celebrate children’s learning and achievement.

The current enrolment of 176 children are taught in seven classes at present. There are currently no composite classes. The teaching staff consists of the principal and 7 full-time teachers. We currently have eight classroom assistants who work within classes and with individual pupils.

The principal and staff work hard to maintain and develop the family atmosphere, good relationships and caring ethos of the school and each child knows that he or she is a valued and supported member of the school community.

In common with other schools, Greystone Primary continues to implement and develop the NI Curriculum. The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum in an environment where each child is treated as an individual and is happy and secure in their learning, development and interaction with others. Children who have difficulties with aspects of learning are supported individually and in groups by their class teachers, learning support assistants and the SENCo. The school also draws upon the support of LTSS and other professionals as appropriate.
